Today whilst at St Michael's primary school, I observed Jack Robinson whilst he was delivering a coaching session to a group of year six pupils. I was focusing my attention on seven aspects of his coaching. These aspects were his confidence, the delivery of the session, his voice, the content of the session, the inclusion of Olympic values in the session, his children skills and finally his time keeping.
Confidence - Jacks confidence was very, very good throughout his session. He was confident to the extent where he could comfortably coach a session without assistance after only a few weeks of being in sixth form.
Delivery of session - Because Jack has so much confidence and ability; he easily delivers a high level of sports coaching without being out of his comfort zone.
Voice - Jack spoke very clearly to all the participants of the session. He adjusted his typical voice and tone to suit the age and understanding of the pupils he was coaching. The children had absolutely no problems understanding everything Jack said.
Content of session - Jacks content of his session was very relevant to the Olympic value of courage. His "mine field" game was extremely engaging for all of the children. The children walking through the "mine field" would of course have been engaged but also the children guiding were very engaged. Jacks game required courage from the children to walk through the course blindfolded.
Inclusion of Olympic values - Jack opened each session with an explanation of his Olympic value "courage". The children all seemed to show a clear understanding of what courage was and the session content related to this a lot.
Children skills - As Jack was coaching groups of year six children it was very important for him to get onto the children’s level as far as talking to them was concerned. The children remained engaged at all times as? Jack was very good at keeping the session fun and entertaining.
Time keeping - Jacks time keeping was very good. The children all got a fair amount of goes at the game and all of the groups got an equal amount of time playing the game.

First Olympic Value Festival - Evaluation
I was unaware that the session held on the 12th September was taking place. Because of this I was unable to attend. I will make sure I attend the following session whenever it may be.
When I coach my first session I will ensure that I set up the equipment for the session quickly and safely, make sure that my partner and I are clear on the content of our session, make sure we (my partner and I) time the session accurately with stopwatches and finally I will ensure that we both operate a six minute rotation system in which one of us can set up the equipment and the other can do the coaching.
